Northbound Projects

Every builder says they are reliable, so saying it again proves nothing. This one writes the process down, gives developers, landlords, homeowners and commercial clients each their own way in, and hands over a live project dashboard once work starts.

01

The brief

Northbound's reputation was built on transparent process and zero-drama project delivery. They needed a website that matched: clear, structured, no fluff. We designed and built it from scratch, with audience-specific landing pages for developers, landlords, homeowners and commercial clients.

02

Key objectives

  1. 01Position Northbound as the calm, structured option in a chaotic industry
  2. 02Give each audience (developer, landlord, homeowner, commercial) a clear path
  3. 03Capture proper project briefs through a structured contact form (not just an email)
  4. 04Write the process down so a prospect can see how a job will run
  5. 05Set the SEO foundations for Glasgow, Central Belt, Ayrshire and Paisley searches

What we built

Audience-specific landing pages

Rather than a generic 'Services' page, every audience has its own entry point, Developers, Landlords, Homeowners and Commercial, each with the language, examples and proof points that audience actually cares about.

Structured project brief capture

The contact form doesn't just collect a name and email. It captures project type, budget bracket, timeline and supporting documents, so the first reply can be specific instead of a discovery-call request.

Process page as a sales tool

The way they run a job is the thing that wins them work, so it gets its own page: four steps, each with what happens, what it costs and what is agreed in writing before anyone pays a deposit. A prospect can read the whole thing before picking up the phone.

Trust-led design system

Clean type, restrained palette, real project photography over stock. The whole site signals 'we won't waste your time' before a single word is read.

A dashboard once the job starts

The sale does not end at the enquiry, so neither does the build. Clients get a login where they can see where their project stands, what happens next and when each payment falls due, which is the same promise the process page makes, kept after the deposit rather than only before it.

A tired period office with green carpet and cracked plaster before refurbishment
The Motherwell offices as handed over: green carpet, cracked plaster, cornice worth saving.
The same building stripped back to studs and plasterboard mid-refurbishment
Stripped back. The stage most firms leave out of the gallery, and the one a nervous client actually wants to see.
The finished coworking space with oak flooring, desks and task lighting
The same rooms finished as workspace, cornice kept. Before and after is the proof; the site is built to show both.

Drawings on the worktop, mid-job. The site claims the work is run properly, so it shows the running of it.

04

Our process

01

Listening

Two discovery sessions to understand the audiences, since developers and homeowners are very different sales, and to write down how a job actually runs.

02

Sitemap & strategy

Built the IA around the four audiences, mapped every customer journey through to the contact form.

03

Design

Wireframes first, then visual design. Light, considered, photography-led. Every page passes a 'would a busy property developer trust this in 8 seconds' test.

04

Build

Hand-coded in Next.js + Tailwind. SEO foundations baked in from day one, schema markup, semantic structure, lightweight assets.

05

Launch & care

Soft-launch, two weeks of monitoring and copy tweaks, ongoing care plan for updates and new project entries.

05

Features we built

  • Custom-built audience landing pages (4)
  • Project brief intake form with file uploads
  • Editable project / case study system
  • Google Reviews integration
  • WhatsApp click-to-chat
  • Schema.org markup for local SEO
  • Companies House verification link
  • Editorial blog / insights pipeline
  • Client portal with a live project status view

06

The result

A refurbishment firm whose pitch was always "we run this properly" now has a site that demonstrates it before the first call. Four audiences each get their own way in, the process is written down where a nervous client can read it, and the enquiry form arrives as a brief rather than a name and a number.
